Dear Parents,

I’m so excited to begin a new school year. Thank you for the partnership and support in the education of your son/daughter. As students move through junior high, it’s gratifying to see how they mature and  become  ready for high school.

Just some reminders:

I’ve had great success communicating with parents via email. If you would like to change your address or add another parent’s, please let me know. I can be reached at mrsthomas@stspeterandpaulschool.com or  mrsthomas44@yahoo.com. Both will be active for your convenience. If email is not the best mode of communication for you, please let me know.

Each student needs a language arts binder. Everything for language arts will be kept in this binder. The students will be graded on their organizational skills. The binder needs to be divided into the following sections: English, Reading, Spelling, Oral Language, Vocabulary, and AR.

Please encourage your son/daughter to tract assignments in his/her agenda. That makes it his/her responsibility to complete tasks. Major project will be  emailed to you. The agenda is especially important this year since behaviors will be noted daily there. Three or more behavior notes result in a behavior notice that will be sent home for a parent’s signature.

Expanded Accelerated Reader. Many  books are available for an internet approach to testing. You will be able to check your son/daughter’s testing record on line. Students will participate in this program with more required independent reading. The GOAL is 60 points for the year.

Progress Book for grades, progress reports, and our school website will enable parents to have     access to their son/daughter’s grades and school information online. Please use this important tracking tool for your son/daughter. Encourage THEM use this vital tool to stay on tract.
