4th Grade Homework Assignments
We begin the school year with new Science text books
which are divided into three major categories: Life, Physical, and Earth. Labs (full and mini) are frequent
and require participants to follow standard procedures using the Scientific Method. Classes are divided
into 4 or 5 lab groups each with assigned task managers chosen by participants. Labs provide valuable hands-on experience, and members learn how to work more effectively in
teams. Each lab group is responsible for following standard procedures and accountable for recording their
own observations.
CELLS ALIVE!
Everyone has an important role to play in Science Lab Procedures:

Equipment Manager Keeps track of the time, makes sure all lab team members can use equipment, in charge of
clean up and reports damaged or missing supplies to the teacher. Data Collection Manager Makes sure all written work the group completes is accurate and all data is collected and recorded accurately. Communications Manager & Observations Manager Asks questions for group and is only one allowed
to leave group when necessary, observes group members to make sure everyone is doing their assigned job. Procedures Manager Makes sure group does activity in systematic way
and that each step of task is finished before group moves on to the next step.
Welcome to our Reading studies. "Oh, the
places you'll go."
